Is there any cooking involved?

No! Just follow our 3 step process:

1. Empty contents into a dish and add required quantity of boiling water (found on back of packet)

2. Mix well and cover with a lid for 5-10 minutes

3. Remove lid, mix well and serve

How are these meals made?

Our meals are freshly cooked by expert Indian chefs and then freeze-dried (like your instant coffee!), a process which removes the air and moisture to keep meals fresh for months WITHOUT adding preservatives.

How long does delivery take?

If you choose free standard delivery (minimum spend £12) you will almost always receive your order within 2-3 working days. If you choose express delivery and order before 12pm, you will usually receive your order the next working day – otherwise, you will receive it the following working day.

Great packaging and taste

The food gets prepared like magic. I ordered Pav bhaji, chole and Rajma. All the the 3 products taste good but I found taste of Rajma to be great. Usually I was using Haldirams ready to eat meals but due to my brother who eats Jain food(no onion garlic) I explored products of 5minutestodelhi and it turned out great. I will highly recommend people looking for ready to eat meals with no onion garlic option

Just Wow!

Have tried a lot of versions of ready to eat and insta mix products for dishes like chole, but have never felt as satisfied after trying these punjabi chole.
The technology used is preserving the original taste of the dish is mind blowing. For all i know i might actually be eating Chole made in punjab here in UK at my home on my desk watching a good movie.
Fantastic taste and freshness.
100% recommend.

Must try!

It was delicious, spicy but not overwhelming. It went great with some biryani and would go well with jeera rice. Not to mention the great protein hit too!

How We Do It

FAQS

What about storage and shelf life?

No need to store in the fridge or freezer – just keep them in your cupboard or draw,, out of direct sunlight. Each meal stays fresh for at least a couple of months from time of purchase (best before date found on back of each packet) so you don’t have to worry!

Where are these meals made?

Each dish is freshly prepared in India following traditional, authentic recipes while adhering to rigorous food, hygiene and safety protocols. This is how we guarantee both authenticity of flavour as well as the safety and quality of our food.

What about food hygiene practies and safety?

Our freeze-drying process is followed as per the Food Safety Management System by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and also the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In the UK, our storage facility received a Food and Hygiene rating of 5, the highest possible award for food hygiene issued by a local council.

Do they contain preservatives?

NO! Freeze-drying technology allows us to use natural ingredients WITHOUT losing the taste, freshness and quality of your meals. This is the same technology that NASA use to keep food fresh when sending astronauts into space, and the same process by which instant coffee is produced to maintain its freshness.

What are freeze-dried foods?

Freeze-dried foods are simply foods that have been dehydrated via a process called lyophilization, meaning the water moisture is removed from the food WITHOUT turning it into a liquid - unlike conventional dehydration where foods are HEATED to remove the water. This is a summary of the process:

  1. Meals are freshly cooked by expert chefs and placed on trays in freeze-drying machine
  2. Food is frozen, and then a vacuum activates which causes the ice to change directly from a solid to a vapor, without becoming a liquid
  3. Food undergoes a secondary drying known as ‘desorption drying’, which dries the products to their desired humidity by removing the remaining bound water.
